Josh Peck’s Biography Josh Peck’s Childhood, Start In Acting, Rise To Fame and Weight Loss Born in Manhattan, New York City, Josh Peck attended ‘The Professional Performing Arts School’ learning the skills that would help his career in the near future. He grew up and lived with his mother and grandmother, not knowing his biological father. He often starred in youth theatre during his childhood and was thinking of becoming a comedian and pursued this interest as a kid. He performed stand up at Caroline’s Comedy Club as part of the Audrey Hepburn foundation. In 2000 he was offered a role on ‘The Amanda Show’ a popular Nick programme starring Amanda Bynes and his future co-star, Drake Bell. His Mother convinced him to take the offer and he moved to L.A. to look into an acting career. Josh became a fast riser in the television and film industry appearing in many films in his first several years as an actor. ‘Snow Day’ was his film acting debut, playing ‘Wayne Alworth’ one of the lead characters best friends. He also appeared in films, ‘Mean Creek’ ‘Havoc’ and ‘Spun’, he received high praise from critics in all his early roles. As well as playing comedy roles, he appeared in iconic NBC medical TV show, ‘ER’ helping to build his range as an actor, but his first love would always be comedy and making people laugh through his roles. It was at this time that he starred in a spin-off of ‘The Amanda Show’ with previous co-star Drake entitled, ‘Drake and Josh’. He played ‘Josh Nichols’ and the show successfully ran for 4 seasons and produced 60 episodes. At the Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards in 2008 he was nominated as Favorite Television Actor for his work on the show. He also directed one of the episodes diversifying his skills in the industry.
